Blue Corn Face Mask Review

Hey out there! I wanted to share with y'all one of the best things I've purchased for my skin in a while. My skin tends to be on the oily side- especially towards the afternoon. I am a loyal fan of The Body Shop's skincare line {I particularly love the seaweed cleansing line}. When I was in the store to buy some more toner, I wandered over into their mask section. I bought this product by recommendation of the sales representative and rushed home to use it!

This mask is called the Blue Corn 3 in 1 Deep Cleansing Scrub Mask. It's incredible! I use it once a week in place of my normal skin care routine. My favorite part is definitely how soft my skin is when I rinse it off. It works to deep cleanse AND exfoliate your skin. First you apply a thin layer to your face and let it work its magic for 10-15 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water and enjoy the exfoliation! My skin is absolutely glowing afterwards and I feel like my skin looks better for several days after using it.

My lovely mask definitely helps to control my skin's oil production after use. Truly, I just love how pampered I feel while I use it! Day-to-day life can get so busy and it's great to take some time to treat yourself. It would be a great addition to the next at-home spa day! I would highly recommend it.

What is your favorite product to pamper yourself? Have you used this before?

My Dream Kitchen Wish List

I am a HUGE fan of the all white kitchen. Honestly, I am drawn to neutral tones all over the house. There is something so calming about a crisp and clean white room! I am currently rocking a mostly white kitchen with some splashes of color {hand towels, silicone cookware, etc.} throughout. I would say that as far as what I've supplied, the white theme still shines through. While I have lived in my apartment for just under a year, I feel as though I have quite a bit of decorating to do. Here are my picks to finish up my perfect white kitchen!

White Kitchen Wish List
1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6
1 Garlic Press. I love garlic in my dishes. It is definitely one of my favorite flavors! I have always admired these handy little presses and would love to add one to my kitchen gadget drawer.

2 KitchenAid Standing Mixer. Ever since I knew what these were, I have wanted a KitchenAid standing mixer! Not only do they simplify the cooking process, they do EVERYTHING! Once I get my hands on one of these guys I will be getting all of the accessories too!!

3 Decorative Pitcher. The floral print on this pretty pitcher is eye catching. I have been on the hunt for a white pitcher and I'm really drawn to this delicate piece.

4 Dainty Champagne Flutes. I typically drink all of my alcoholic beverages in my stemless wine glasses. I think it would be really nice to diversify my stemware and love how pretty these flutes are. Before I host any special event, I will be sure to invest in something like these!

5 Nespresso Machine. I absolutely LOVE my Keurig, but lately I have been enticed by the idea of making my own espresso drinks. This Nespresso VertuoLine makes dreamy coffee and espresso in the same machine! Naturally, I love the white exterior and anything that makes a delicious coffee drink is a winner in my book!

6 Counter Height Stools. I have been on the hunt for some stools for my kitchen island counter. I love the simplicity! I could definitely see myself eating dinner with my friends on these.

Sunday Blog Reading Round-Up

Hi y'all! This weekend has been so crazy, I can't believe we got more snow yesterday! NOVA has gotten slammed with a lot of winter weather lately {see my back porch view at the start of it all yesterday via Instagram}!! This Georgia girl is still having a hard time adjusting. If you are snowed in or just staying in for a lazy Sunday, here are a few things I've come across that are worth checking out!

This post by A Little Searsucker Sass really resonates with me. In today's culture, it can be extremely difficult to stay out of the gossip loop and she shares some great insight into her recent experiences.

I love DC Girl in Pearls' post featuring an awesome blouse that can work perfectly at work or out on the town!

I am basically drooling over this recipe posted on Alexandra Bee Blog!

Please take a minute to read this article warning against the danger of UV even once you've stepped inside.

If you're like me and haven't taken the plunge to purchase a high quality camera, here are a few tips to improve your iPhone photos by Song of Style.

Loving this how-to featuring a round brush over on! I'm ready to sport some runway-worthy locks.

It's so nice to see social media working to support rather than tear down one person's healthy body changes.

What are you reading these days? Any suggestions for my lazy Sunday reading list?

Hello Again!

Hi, y'all! I am sorry that things have been quiet over here for the past week or so. I was out of town on a business trip that was preceded by a long weekend with my man in Disney World! I will be working on a recap to share my trip and my advice for planning the best possible couples trip to Disney. We really had an awesome time and I can't wait to go back again. I'm always sad to leave vacation, but starting to plan the next one definitely helps ease the pain!

Are you excited for Valentine's Day? I don't have anything too exciting planned since we celebrated last weekend {and are long distance!} but I would love to hear what y'all are up to! This weekend is looking to be a relaxed long weekend for me- I just got home from being gone for a week so I will be catching up on laundry, resting, and preparing for the week. I also have a bit of organizing to do around my place. I still haven't hung up my gorgeous mirror that I got for my birthday from my boyfriend! If you missed it, be sure to check out my Instagram to sneak a peek at it!

I hope you have a relaxing and love-filled weekend! :)

My "splash" into the juice world

As I mentioned previously, I picked up some cold pressed juices from Wegman's to try something different. Juicing and juice cleanses are extremely popular up here in Northern VA. I haven't committed to a full fledged cleanse {not sure if I will ever be able to do that}, but I have definitely enjoyed mixing them in with my daily diet. Feel free to pop over to my Instagram to see some of my different choices!

I've only experimented with a few different brands at this point- but I've been pleased overall with my choices. For me, these have been a great tasting and easy way to get more fruits and veggies during the day. Particularly during lunch! I find myself going to the same fast food places {yikes!} when I'm eating out. And while I'm not always eating off the dollar menu, I don't always get to eat the rainbow either!

Have you experimented with any cold-pressed juices yet? I wanted to share a little about my experience so far with y'all! The two brands I have tried are BluePrint and Suja. I drank a Carrot Lemon juice from BluePrint that I picked up at SafeWay. Kinda random, but I just had one of those days where I was running late and forgot to grab a previously purchased juice before I left home. The juice was very separated when I purchased it, but blended well when I shook it. The color was vibrant and smelled just like a fresh carrot when I opened it up! The juice was thin and fresh tasting with a crisp lemon after taste. {I mention the texture because I was worried about it being thick} I enjoyed it, but I wonder if it would be just as good- and cheaper- for me to buy a small bag of carrots to have with my meal.

The other juices I have enjoyed so far have been from Suja. I grabbed quite a few flavors to get started! As far as the green juices go, Green Delight was my favorite. This is probably more of a beginner juice as it is primarily sweet. For the colored/fruity juices, it's truly hard to pick. If I had to, Berry Goodness and Berry Nana have got to tie for first. Look at how pretty these are!!

I couldn't even get a photo before finishing this one! :)

As you can see, these are brilliantly colored and gorgeous! Two of the juices that I got were a little on the earthy side for being a juice newbie. Maybe my first hint should've been that I don't particularly love beets, but the Sweet Beets was more beets and less sweets. I think I would've liked it more if it was sweetened a bit more. It smelled rich and flavorful. The Uber Greens bottle was also on the earthy side and the juice was very thin. Although I didn't fall in love with the Uber Greens, I did feel good after I drank it. Just knowing that it was so full of antioxidants and nutrients made it taste better for me. While I'm not totally opposed to trying them again, I feel like my favorites and the more fruity juices will be the ones I continue to incorporate into my routine. Here are just a few more pretties for your viewing pleasure. :)
