IN:
The official start of Fall. Growing up in Georgia, I didn't get to experience too much of what fall truly is about- mainly the gorgeous scenery! Virginia is absolutely breathtaking during this time of the year and I'm really thankful to have been given the opportunity to experience a true fall!
Visiting Family. I started out the beginning of the month by spending Labor Day in Tennessee with my family and came back refreshed. It shouldn't take a trip to remind me, but I'm extremely blessed!
New Music. This weekend will be spent at the Landmark Music Festival, and I couldn't be more excited! I'm an avid country fan, but I've been spending the last few weeks listening to some of the artists I will hopefully catch- and I haven't hated it!
Twitter Chats. Y'all, I may have created a monster. I totally LOVE attending Twitter chats now! I've really enjoyed getting to know new people through them, and the discussions are invigorating to me. A few favorites are #CreateLounge, #TipsyChat, and #CreativeCoffeeHour.
Project Runway. I have no idea where I've been, but this show is fantastic! I got sucked into a marathon yesterday and can't wait to fill in the gaps of what I've missed. I have never been a sewer, sans high school home ec, but this really gets my creative juices pumping!
OUT:
Insomnia. I have had a terrible time sleeping this month. I don't take prescription sleep medication and will occasionally use OTC, but I refuse to do it for a long period of time. I've tried lavender essential oil, chamomile tea, and exercise.. nothing is consistently helping. Yuck.
Hotel Pillows. I've been in a hotel at least one night a week for the past month and I am O-V-E-R the flatness of the pillows! It's almost like they aren't there.
Eye-area Wrinkles. Need I say more?
Papercuts. How this keeps happening, I'm not sure. But I feel as though I'm consistently rocking a cut at all times. Hello, bandaids!
Negativity. I've harbored and been surrounded by a ton of negativity lately- which is so not my jam. Typically I'm an optimistic person, so I would love to shake this cloud of negative thoughts and get back to finding the silver lining. Here's hoping!

Thanks so much for linking up! I love that's its finally fall too--but in Louisiana it's nothing like Virginia or really anywhere up north! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove this linkup! This is my first fall outside of my home state of NC and it's so weird to not see changing leaves everywhere down here in Florida - I'm already missing the cooler weather!

I definitely feel your pain when it comes to insomnia. I've struggled with that. I've been using Essential Oils (calming) and its helped on a certain nights.
ReplyDeleteI always have issues sleeping and will occasionally take melatonin.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to try essential oils for awhile.

These posts are so much fun to read. Twitter chats are the best! They get good conversation going sometimes and it's a great way to chat with new bloggers :)
ReplyDeleteFlat pillows and eye winkles are definitely no fun, I just bought new pillows yesterday and swear I slept SO much better. Glad you're experiencing a true fall, yay for crisp air and bright leaves!
ReplyDeleteI love this linkup! I'm also so over insomnia and flat pillows-my husband and I need to invest in some new, good ones soon!

Twitter chats are so absolutely perfect! And I have to take my pillow to hotels, their pillows just never compare! (I bought myself a satin pillowcase, so it's absolutely worth). And I have the same insomnia problem! I'd never sleep ever if I didn't take melatonin- natural sleep aid, non habit forming, knocks me out like a light. Win!

Yes to Twitter chats! And noooo to negativity! I'm right there with you. I cannot stand bad vibes.

Found your blog through the link up today :) I would love to visit the east coast during fall since I've heard it's beautiful! I'm in the Midwest & it still feels pretty summer-like around here but I'm looking forward to the cooler weather. I feel you on the not sleeping thing too! This week has been awful! (I just read your melatonin lotion post too--- I've never heard of that but I'm so intrigued now because I always just take the melatonin pills). Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteTwitter chats are so much fun, I'll have to check some of those out!
